Abraham received that promise from God. That’s what the Scripture means when it says: “I have made you the father of many nations.” He is our example and father of faith, for in God’s presence he believed that God can raise the dead and call into being things that don’t even exist yet.

God says in Isaiah 51:2, "Look to Abraham your father (ancestor), and to Sarah, who gave you birth. For I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.” The Word of God says that Abraham is the true “father of faith,” for he was qualified to become the father of all who believe. 

God has proved His love by giving us His greatest treasure, the gift of His Son. And since God freely offered Him up as the sacrifice for all of us, He will not withhold anything else He has to offer us. Romans 8:32 Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this.
